Our commitment
Visioning Lab Ltd is committed to making the Water Decisions website accessible to as many people as possible, in line with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at AA level.
What we have done
- Semantic HTML — pages use proper headings, lists, and landmarks for screen reader navigation.
- Keyboard navigation — all interactive elements (filters, collapsible sections, links) are keyboard accessible.
- Colour contrast — text colours are chosen to meet WCAG AA contrast ratios against backgrounds.
- Responsive layout — the site reflows on small screens and supports browser zoom up to 200% without loss of content.
- System fonts — the site uses your operating system fonts so text rendering matches your accessibility preferences.
- No autoplay or motion — there is no animation, autoplay video, or content that flashes.
- No tracking — the site does not use cookies or analytics that might trigger consent dialogs.
Known limitations
We are aware that some parts of the site may not yet be fully accessible:
- The radar charts on the Assessment page are rendered via canvas and may not be readable by screen readers. Numerical scores are displayed alongside the chart as a text alternative.
- The world map on the Case Studies index uses inline SVG; region labels are present but the map is primarily a visual aid — the same content is available in the table view above it.
- Some external PDF documents linked from case studies may not have been authored to accessibility standards.
We are working to improve these areas in future updates.
